About the Author
Tomie dePaola is one of the most beloved children's book authors and illustrators of all time. He has written and illustrated over 250 books, many of which have become classics. dePaola's books are known for their heartwarming stories, beautiful illustrations, and important themes.
dePaola was born in New Hampshire in 1934. He began drawing at a young age and studied art at the Boston Museum School. After graduating, he worked as a commercial artist before turning to children's books. dePaola's first book, The Wonderful Dragon of Timpanogos, was published in 1965.
